There are pieces of furniture that organize a room and pieces of furniture that preside over it. A vintage solid pine display cabinet over two meters tall indisputably belongs to the latter group.

This piece was built in the second half of the 20th century from solid pine, with an architectural style not seen in current furniture: fluted pilasters on the sides, a molded cornice, and glass paneled doors, like the windows of old houses.

The grayish blue with a distressed finish was applied by hand in our workshop, allowing the pine grain to show through on edges and moldings. The cream-colored interior allows dishes or books to breathe. The aged brass handles are original to the piece.

Measuring 132 cm wide, 50 cm deep, and 221 cm high, it organizes a dining room, a country kitchen, or a living room. Two shelves behind the glass for what deserves to be seen; three spacious drawers below for everything else.

── WHAT WE LIKE MOST ABOUT THIS PIECE ──

→ The fluted pilasters flanking the body: a touch of classical architecture transferred to furniture that no current factory display cabinet incorporates with this depth of carving.

→ The handmade distressing: each worn edge was worked one by one so that the pine grain shows through where decades of use would have worn it. It's not a printed effect; it's craftsmanship.

→ The proportion between display and storage: glass above, three drawers below. Show what you want and store what you don't, in a single piece of furniture with a contained depth (50 cm).

── RESTORED IN OUR WORKSHOP IN NAVALCARNERO, MADRID ──

We have reviewed the entire structure, adjusted doors and drawers for precise closing, and hand-sanded all surfaces before applying the new color. The distressed blue is a customization carried out entirely in our workshop — it is not the original color of the piece — finished with the interior painted in cream.

The structure is solid, the drawers slide smoothly, and the doors close aligned. It arrives ready to take its place.
