What styles of antique chest of drawers are in the collection?

The French chest of drawers predominates: Louis XV with a bombé front, marquetry, bronze fittings, and a marble top, and Empire style in walnut or flame mahogany. Alongside these are Dutch chests of drawers, Napoleon III, campaign chests, and tall chests of drawers (sinfonieres). The collection changes with every sale.

What is the difference between an antique and a vintage chest of drawers?

We call pieces from before the 20th century "antique" and those manufactured during the 20th century "vintage." The product page for each chest of drawers indicates its era, wood types, and condition, and discloses any finishes applied in the workshop.

What are the dimensions of an antique chest of drawers?

They are usually between 90 and 120 cm wide and between 80 and 90 cm high. A tall chest (sinfonier) takes up less wall space and gains height. It is advisable to leave at least 60 cm of free space in front to open the drawers. Each product page indicates the exact measurements.

Where should you place a chest of drawers?

In the bedroom, which is its original place. Also in the hallway, under a mirror, or in the living room. A marble top supports lamps and heavy objects well.
