DESCRIPTION

Limewashed wood has something no varnish can achieve: it lets the walnut speak in its own voice. A vintage Louis XV limewashed walnut armoire doesn't just decorate a room. It calms it.

This piece was built in the mid-20th century following the canons of the Provençal Louis XV style: molded doors with carved crests, escutcheons on the front, a shaped apron, and cabriole legs ending in a scroll.

In our workshop, we restored the walnut to bare wood with a limewashed finish that softens the tone and reveals the grain, and we hand-painted the interior in a greenish-blue that surprises every time it opens — a contrast that announces nothing from the outside and changes everything on the inside.

At 121 cm wide, 45 cm deep, and 175 cm high, it fits where a classic wardrobe would not: a bedroom, a spacious hall, a country kitchen, or a living room that needs storage with presence. Four doors with shelves and two central drawers.

No two are alike. No restocking will be available.

── WHAT WE LIKE MOST ABOUT THIS PIECE ──

→ The greenish-blue interior: opening the doors and finding that color is the small daily luxury that distinguishes a workshop piece from a mass-produced item.

→ The original hardware: long, cut-out key plates and exposed rod hinges, the unmistakable signature of Provençal furniture. They are still the original ones from the piece.

→ The 45 cm depth: all the capacity of a four-door wardrobe in a depth that doesn't invade the room. A proportion difficult to find.

── RESTORED IN OUR WORKSHOP IN NAVALCARNERO, MADRID ──

We have revised the complete structure, adjusted doors and drawers, and hand-sanded the entire surface to restore the walnut to bare wood with a limewashed finish. The interior was hand-painted in greenish-blue in our workshop — a unique customization, not the original finish of the piece — respecting the period hardware.

The structure is solid, the doors close aligned, and the drawers slide smoothly. It arrives ready to take its place.

A piece selected and restored by Antique Arte y Decoración — specializing since 2015 in antique furniture, with its own workshop in Navalcarnero and over 3,500 families throughout Spain.
