There are rooms that are missing something, and no one can say what. Almost always it's light. And almost always the answer isn't a lamp.

This large-format gold leaf mirror is hand-carved from solid wood, following the classic French parecloses model: a double frame where perimeter mirror panes surround the central pane. A type of construction that required hours in the workshop and is now practically nobody undertakes.

The cresting features a central palmette flanked by volutes, with two carved fruit baskets crowning the corners. The acanthus leaves and flowers that finish each corner are carved piece by piece. And the gilding is gold leaf hand-applied to the wood, with a warm light that no industrial finish can replicate.

Measuring 120 cm wide and 180 cm high, it is a piece designed to dominate a space: above a console in the entryway, over the living room fireplace, or as the sole protagonist of a wall. The more serene the space, the more the mirror speaks.

No two are alike. There will be no replenishment.

→ The parecloses structure: the perimeter panes multiply reflections and give the frame a depth that a flat factory mirror does not have. It's the difference between hanging a mirror and hanging a work of art.

→ The gold leaf gilding with its patina: in some places, the reddish tone of the bole beneath the leaf shows through, the silent signature of handmade gilding. That's not manufactured; it's earned with age.

→ Its ability to coexist with contemporary interiors: on a stone-toned wall or next to contemporary pieces, the contrast elevates everything.

── RESTORED IN OUR WORKSHOP IN NAVALCARNERO, MADRID ──

In our workshop, the entire frame structure has been reviewed, consolidating the joints and securing each carved element of the cresting and corners. The gilding has been cleaned, respecting the original patina, without repaintings that falsify the leaf.

The structure is solid, the panes are firm, and the piece is ready for secure hanging according to its weight. It arrives ready to take its place.
