This antique bronze cup is a true gem of high decoration, embodying the splendor of the early 19th-century Empire style. Inspired by the kraters of classical antiquity, it features a solid bronze body with a deep, rich, dark patina. From this understated base, gilt bronze appliqués burst forth in exuberant luxury: opulent garlands of flowers and fruit cascade down, while two zoomorphic handles emerge from expressive lion masks. It rests on a square base of pure white marble, which adds light and a sublime contrast. It is a testament to the artisanal virtuosity of its era.

DESCRIPTION

What we like most
The mastery of the bronze work: The quality of the chiseling is exceptional. Every leaf of the garland and every detail of the faces and handles is the work of a master bronze worker.

The sumptuous combination of materials: The alliance between the dark patina of bronze, the flashes of gold and the purity of marble is the quintessence of neoclassical luxury.

A fragment of history: Owning these cups is like guarding a treasure, a tangible fragment of the splendor of a palace or a grand residence of the high society of the 19th century.
