The two sides of a bed demand the same things: a lamp, a place to put a book, glasses, a glass of water. And that the two bedside tables match.
The problem arises when you look for the second one and it's not there.

This pair of vintage side tables comes together, as originally conceived. Manufactured in the second half of the 20th century, following the Louis XVI style gueridon model, with the sobriety of lines that style imposed.

Each top is a piece of green marble with its own unique veining, framed by an openwork brass gallery. The body, in honey-toned burr veneer, with carved rosettes on fluted legs. A discreet drawer and an oval bottom shelf on each.

The marble's veining is unique: no current factory delivers two identical tops.

Each table measures 53 cm wide, 41 cm deep, and 63.7 cm high. The perfect height to serve as bedside tables on both sides of a bed, or to flank a sofa without dominating the space.

No two are alike. There will be no restocking.

── WHAT WE LIKE MOST ABOUT THIS PIECE ──

→ The green marble top. Natural stone, cool to the touch, with veining that changes with the light. This is what separates a real table from one with a printed top.

→ The burr veneer. That intricate wood grain is not designed: it appears where the tree twisted for decades. The varnish has acquired a warm tone over the years that cannot be achieved new.

→ That there are two. They solve the problem of both sides of a bed as bedside tables, or the two corners of a sofa, all at once and with the exact symmetry you were looking for and rarely find.

── RESTORED IN OUR WORKSHOP IN NAVALCARNERO, MADRID ──

We have checked the structure of both tables, verified the seating of each marble top on its body, and reinforced the leg joints where use demanded it. The burr veneer has been cleaned and restored by hand, and the brass gallery has been leveled.

Both arrive sturdy, with the drawers sliding well and the marble firmly in place. They arrive ready to take their place.
