The bedroom is the room that no one else sees. Perhaps that's why we tend to furnish it with the first things we find. A shame, because it's the one that belongs to us the most.

This Louis XVI style wardrobe arrived at the workshop as an early 20th-century piece. Three doors, three beveled mirrors, and a garland of gilded laurel wreaths running across the entire front. None of this is drawn in a factory today.

The hardware is cast brass, with keyholes and handles crafted piece by piece. The mirrors are beveled, cut on the edge, a detail that today is replaced by a flat cut. And the acanthus pendants framing each door were carved and gilded by hand.

It measures 195 cm wide by 184 cm high. It takes up an entire wall and makes it the center of the room. The three mirrors also make any bedroom appear larger and brighter than it is.

No two are alike. There will be no restocking.

── WHAT WE LIKE MOST ABOUT THIS PIECE ──

→ The garland of laurel wreaths on the cornice. Carved and gilded by hand, link by link. It's the kind of work that made furniture expensive a hundred years ago and that today simply isn't done anymore.

→ The solid wood underneath. A wardrobe from this era was built to last generations and to be assembled and disassembled without losing solidity. That noble quality is not found in today's particleboard.

→ The effect of the three mirrors. Opposite a window, it doubles the light. In a small bedroom, it makes it larger. It's storage, yes, but also the full-length mirror that is almost always missing at home.

── RESTORED IN OUR WORKSHOP IN NAVALCARNERO, MADRID ──

We reviewed the entire structure and adjusted the doors and the mounting system. The color is our personalization: hand-painted in a serene blue on the outside and a warm ochre on the inside, with a distressed finish. The gilding was cleaned and consolidated, respecting its wear.

The three doors close perfectly plumb, the mirrors are firm, and the shelves, hanging rail, and interior drawer fulfill their function. The wardrobe is delivered disassembled and assembled in your home on the day of delivery. It arrives ready to take its place.
