Homes change.
Because we change.
You start living in your parents' house. And there's not much to say there. It's not your house. It's their order, their way, their rules.
Then you get married. Or you move in with someone.
And the negotiation begins.
This sofa yes, that piece of furniture no. Everyone arrives with their own ideas, their quirks, their memories. It's a house under construction. Like the couple.
At that stage, you think more about practicality. About what "works". About what "fits".
Then the children arrive.
And the house transforms again. More space, more noise, more life.
Perhaps a move. A bigger house. Furniture that can withstand. Decoration that can handle bumps, races, and laughter. The house becomes a logistical battlefield where survival trumps aesthetics.
And one day, almost without realizing it, the house falls silent again.
You're back to two. Or one.
And then, something clicks in your head.
You're no longer looking to fill.
You're looking for order. Light. Easy flow. Tranquility.
You start to value different things. That everything is at hand. That there are no obstacles.
That the hallways breathe. That everything has its place.
Not for aesthetics. For quality of life.
After a certain age, order ceases to be decorative and becomes a form of self-care.
Less accumulation. Better distribution. More natural light.
Furniture that helps, not hinders.
Smart storage. Well-organized drawers. Wardrobes that don't force you to bend down. Sideboards that store without intruding. Bookcases that organize the mind as much as the books.
Because when everything is in its place, the house becomes easier.
