In every home, there's a dead corner. An angle you pay for in the mortgage that serves no purpose.

Straight furniture doesn't fit there. And whatever ends up there always looks like a patch-up.

This rustic vintage corner cabinet was built for that space. Solid wood, second half of the 20th century, traditional Spanish carpentry. The furniture doesn't adapt to the corner: it was born with the corner in mind.

Three sections, 202 cm high. At the top, a display cabinet with two glass doors and a cut-out arch under a wavy pediment. In the center, two open shelves. Below, a closed cabinet with two doors and raised panels.

The hardware is iron: visible hinges and a wrought iron escutcheon on the central pull. The back is made of exposed wooden planks, not thin board. You see it every time you open it.

That detail distinguishes a carpenter-made piece of furniture from a catalog piece. In mass production, the back is the first thing that's cheapened.

58 × 58 cm base. It occupies a corner that is currently empty and provides three levels of storage: visible crockery, preserves, tablecloths. It works in the kitchen, dining room, or a breakfast nook.

No two are alike. There will be no restocking.

── WHAT WE LIKE MOST ABOUT THIS PIECE ──

→ The wavy pediment. A curved molding that runs along the entire front, crowning the cabinet above the display section. This is what makes a corner piece look not like a filler, but the main piece of furniture on the wall.

→ The wood. Knots, prominent grain, and tone variation between planks: what happens when solid wood is worked and not disguised. Decades have settled that color and unified the whole.

→ The three levels of use in a single piece of furniture: what is displayed behind the glass, what is at hand on the open shelves, and what is stored closed below.

── RESTORED IN OUR WORKSHOP IN NAVALCARNERO, MADRID ──

We reviewed the entire structure and the plumb of the furniture on its plinth. We checked all four doors one by one: hinges, closing adjustment, and securing of the display cabinet glass. We reinforced where there was play.

The structure is firm, the doors open and close without rubbing, and the finish retains its original tone, nourished and homogeneous. It arrives ready to take its place.
