There are homes where the dining room is just a thoroughfare. And there are homes where the table is the center of everything that matters. The difference, almost always, is the table.

This extendable dining table is a vintage French piece built in the Louis XV style: cabriole legs, a wavy apron with scallop and acanthus carving, and a parquet top with a Versailles-style weave that no current factory produces piece by piece in this way.

The top, in natural honey-toned wood, displays a geometric pattern that changes with the light throughout the day. Beneath it, two pull-out leaves extend the table when needed. The base is painted blue with an aged distressed finish, a customized contrast from our workshop that transforms a classic table into a contemporary piece.

Closed, it measures 164 × 99 cm — comfortable for six diners. Open, it effortlessly seats ten. It works equally well in a classic dining room or a contemporary one that calls for a touch of character.

── WHAT WE LOVE MOST ABOUT THIS PIECE ──

→ The Versailles-style parquet top: dozens of interlocking wood pieces forming a weave found today only in antique furniture. It's the first thing everyone touches when they see it.

→ The blue with distressed finish on the base, applied in our workshop: it allows the wood to show through on edges, moldings, and carving reliefs, as if the table had been painted decades ago. An aged look that cannot be achieved by mass production.

→ The pull-out leaf system: transforms from a daily table for six to a celebration table for ten in one motion. No loose boards to store.

── RESTORED IN OUR WORKSHOP IN NAVALCARNERO, MADRID ──

We restored the top by hand-sanding it down to the natural wood and protected it with a silky finish that enhances the parquet pattern. The base was prepared, lacquered in blue, and hand-distressed on moldings, carvings, and edges to achieve the aged look.

The structure is inspected and firm, and the extensions slide smoothly. It arrives ready to take its place.
