Crafted from carved hardwood, the mirror stands out with its double fluted side columns crowned by Ionic capitals, which support a richly decorated entablature. The chromatic alternation between burnished gold leaf and cinnabar red backgrounds creates a dramatic contrast that enhances every molding and rosette.

What truly distinguishes this piece is its aged mirror glass. The glass features a natural oxidation patina (mercury effect) with dark veiling that tells stories of decades past. This characteristic softens reflections, providing a warmth and mystery impossible to replicate in modern pieces.

¿Qué trabajos de restauración se han realizado?

Este espejo ha pasado por nuestro proceso artesanal: revisión estructural, tratamiento contra xilófagos, lijado a mano donde era necesario y acabado final, respetando el pan de oro y la pátina original del cristal envejecido. Todo el trabajo se realiza en nuestro taller de Navalcarnero (Madrid).
