The bedroom is the only room you see when you open and close your eyes. And almost always, the first thing that comes into view is the headboard.

This headboard is handcrafted in our workshop from reclaimed cherry wood. The central fan carving, the tongue-and-groove slats, and the turned finials are worked piece by piece, and the black color is applied and distressed by hand to reveal the wood at the edges.

The black finish is not flat: it is hand-aged, with the cherry peeking through at the edges and reliefs. This warm patina beneath the black is what distinguishes a workshop piece from a mass-produced one.

It measures 160 centimeters wide and 160 centimeters high to the finials of the posts, with a thickness of 4. It is designed for 140 and 150-centimeter beds, and looks good against a light wall as well as in a warm-toned bedroom.

── WHAT WE LIKE MOST ABOUT THIS PIECE ──

→ The fan carving. An open petal sun at the crest of the headboard, made with a chisel, which catches the light differently at every hour. It is accompanied by two carved rosettes in the corners.

→ The aged black over reclaimed cherry. Neither smooth nor new: the wood shows through the distressed areas and gives it depth. It is handmade work, impossible to clone in a factory.

→ The turned posts with pointed finials. They add height and presence without being overbearing, and frame the bed like an antique piece would.

── HANDMADE IN OUR WORKSHOP IN NAVALCARNERO, MADRID ──

In our workshop in Navalcarnero, 30 minutes from Madrid, we start with reclaimed cherry wood and assemble the headboard piece by piece: the fan carving, the slats, and the posts. Then we apply the black color by hand and distress it on the edges and reliefs to let the wood breathe.

The headboard arrives assembled, stable, and sealed, ready to be attached to a 140 or 150-centimeter bed frame. It arrives ready to take its place.
