In a house that often receives guests, there's always a lack of surface space to put down a drink, a book, or a cup. And there's always too much space when the guests leave.

This set of four Chinese nest tables solves both problems. It follows the oriental tradition of tables that nest inside each other, carved with the fretwork motifs that decorate classic Chinese furniture.

They are made of noble mahogany-toned wood, with openwork key fretwork borders and inlaid tabletops in a darker, almost black tone. The legs end in a small scroll foot. Such delicate and regular carving does not come from any assembly line.

The largest measures 50.5 cm wide, 38 cm deep, and 66 cm high; the others scale down to fit into a single space. They look good next to a sofa, an armchair, or spread out around the living room when guests arrive.

No two are alike. There will be no restocking.

We have checked all four tables one by one, ensuring that they stack and slide without rubbing and reinforcing the leg joints where necessary. The wood has been cleaned and revived by hand, taking care of the carved borders and the dark tabletops.

The set is firm, stable, and fits perfectly one table inside another. It arrives ready to take its place.
