Every room has a corner that doesn't know what to do with itself. Too narrow for standard furniture, too empty to leave as is. Solving that corner is what separates a finished house from a half-finished one.

This wooden corner cabinet is a Spanish piece in the Castilian style, from the mid-20th century. Solid wood crafted with skill: the upper part opens into an arcade of semicircular arches on small columns, and the lower part closes with two doors of carved panels.

Above, three open shelves framed by arches and columns display whatever you place there — books, pottery, a piece that deserves the spotlight. Below, the paneled doors protect what you prefer to hide. The wood retains its grain and warm walnut tone, with that depth that only years can provide. A piece of furniture like this, hand-carved panel by panel, does not come from a factory.

It measures 179 cm high and 42 cm on each side, made to fit into a ninety-degree corner. It works in a living room, dining room, or entrance hall, wherever a corner calls for content without obstructing movement. It takes advantage of vertical space without occupying useful floor area.

── WHAT WE LIKE MOST ABOUT THIS PIECE ──

→ The upper arcade. The three semicircular arches on small columns transform a simple shelf into a small portico. It's the detail that elevates the piece from practical furniture to furniture with character.

→ The paneled doors. The geometric relief carving, typical of Castilian furniture, gives weight and craftsmanship to the lower part. A carpentry work that today would make any custom order expensive.

→ Its corner unit nature. It solves the corner, that square meter that is almost never utilized, and does so by gaining storage and height without closing off the room.

── RESTORED IN OUR WORKSHOP IN NAVALCARNERO, MADRID ──

We inspected the entire structure and reinforced the joints and shelves where use demanded it. We adjusted the two lower doors so they open and close perfectly plumb, and restored the shine of the finish on the wood while respecting its original tone.

The corner cabinet is firm and stable, with settled shelves, smoothly functioning doors, and treated, vibrant wood. It arrives ready to take its place.
